What Is GST InvoiceNow Requirements?

InvoiceNow is Singapore's nationwide e-invoicing network based on Peppol standard. Introduced by the Infocomm Media Development Authority ("IMDA") in 2019, InvoiceNow enables businesses to easily send and receive invoices in a structured digital format. More information on the benefits of InvoiceNow is available on IMDA's InvoiceNow webpage.

To support the nationwide InvoiceNow initiative and IRAS's efforts to digitalise tax administration, GST-registered businesses will be required to transmit invoice data to IRAS using InvoiceNow-Ready Solutions. This will be mandated in phases.

FAQs

InvoiceNow e-invoicing FAQs for Singapore businesses

Yes. Globe3 is IMDA-accredited as an InvoiceNow-Ready Solution Provider. You do not need a separate tool. It is already built into Globe3.

E-invoicing just means sending invoices digitally, including PDF by email. InvoiceNow is different. It requires your invoice data to be transmitted in structured format directly to IRAS via the PEPPOL network. A PDF does not qualify for GST compliance purposes.

If you registered voluntarily for GST on or after 1 April 2026, yes, you must comply immediately. If you registered before 2026, IRAS will notify you of your deadline by mid-2026. The mandate rolls out to all GST-registered businesses by April 2031.

Yes. You can still send your customer a PDF. But separately, you are required to transmit the invoice data to IRAS via PEPPOL. Globe3 handles that transmission automatically as part of your invoicing workflow.

IRAS will notify you by mid-2026. As a general guide: up to S$200K turnover, your deadline is April 2028. Up to S$1M, April 2029. Up to S$4M, April 2030. Above S$4M, April 2031. Not sure where you fall? Contact us and we will check for you.

InvoiceNow non-compliance is treated as a GST administrative offence. Risks include penalties, audit scrutiny, and delayed GST refunds. Acting before your deadline avoids all of this.

Possibly. The grant is open to SMEs with annual taxable supplies of S$4 million or below. The application window opens 1 July 2026. If you are an existing Globe3 customer who has not activated InvoiceNow yet, activating now may qualify you. Talk to us before the window opens.

No. Globe3 includes Access Point connectivity as part of the solution. You do not need to engage or pay a separate provider to connect to the PEPPOL network.
